Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)

You don’t need to wait for your child to be motivated to engage in therapy in order to provide them with support and help. SPACE, created at Yale University, is an effective treatment for childhood anxiety and obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) that shows parents how to implement the treatment themselves guided by the therapist.

The focus of the SPACE program is on changing the way the parents themselves behave. The aim is to help parents increase supportive responses to a child’s anxiety, while also reducing the accommodations they provide for that anxiety.

Yasmin Smith, was trained by Dr. Eli Lebowitz of the Yale School of Medicine to provide this therapy in person or online.
