Dialectical Behavioural Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is the treatment most closely associated with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). It is practiced individually as well as in group format and combines elements of CBT to help with regulating emotion through distress tolerance and mindfulness. DBT focuses on developing the skills needed to manage intense emotional pain, staying present and in the moment, strategies for interpersonal effectiveness and maintaining a balanced approach to difficult or challenging situations.
